DARREN / THE PERSON BEHIND THE WORK

A little more
about me.

I enjoy learning, building and modelling in Fusion and AutoCAD. My family’s business connects those interests with objects people use every day.

01 / A STARTING POINT

I’m Darren.

I’m a Grade 12 student at Dr. Charles Best Secondary, based in Burnaby, British Columbia. I use AutoCAD and Fusion, and I’m interested in studying engineering at UBC Vancouver.

My next step is to rebuild a selected drawing in CAD, compare its volume with a hand calculation and record the changes I make.

02 / A PERSONAL CONNECTION

Why this work is here.

The stonework references come from my mom’s business, The Silver Stone Arts Co. Ltd. That family connection gives this portfolio a real-world setting: drawings, different materials and the surfaces people use in their homes.

The portfolio calculations connect lengths and thicknesses to volume, mass and forces. My own measurements and CAD files will show which parts I have personally checked.

03 / A WIDER PICTURE

There’s more than CAD.

Outside CAD, my activities include social media and research with SafeguardSenior, rugby, camp volunteering and music production.

The writing workbook below is a private place to collect specific experiences before adding them here.
